In December 1814, Peter Bauduy resigned from the partnership of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company in a dispute with E.I. du Pont. On March 16, 1816 he brought suit in the Delaware Court of Chancery to dissolve the firm and distribute its assets. Du Pont was finally sustained on appeal on June 9, 1829. Daniel Bates came to Australia in 1912. His fiancee followed and they were married in 1914. Daniel owned a butcher shop in Ipswich, until his untimely death in 1917, when he cut his hand in the butcher shop.
